Control Your
Sweet Tooth
In 5 Weeks

INTERMEZZO

with

Learn to crave foods that fuel and nourish your body.

Did you know that babies are born with a preference for sweet taste?

It is inherently human to enjoy the taste of sugar in all its forms.

We believe that there is nothing wrong with having a sweet tooth and indulging in your favorite treats every once in a while.

The trouble starts when your cravings get out of control,

affecting your physical and mental health and even derailing  your life's trajectory and long-term goals.

The first step you need to take is to understand that it is

NOT your fault that you crave sugary treats on the regular.

Check out the link below to find out why.

Question: Everyone knows that consuming excess sugar is bad for health,

so why is it so hard to stop doing it?

Answer: The solutions given to us in the past were often temporary,                           not suitable for everyone, or require unrealistic perseverance.

They ultimately don't ensure a lifestyle change.

INTERMEZZO believes that a lifestyle change starts at home.

Your sweet tooth likely developed from store-bought sources (fast food chains, restaurants, bakeries, major food brands, etc.) that use way more sugar in their products than necessary.

So, rather than trying to work with external "store-bought solutions", you need to change what is already within you - your taste buds (i.e your palate) and your perspective.

In practice, real freedom from your sweet cravings begins

with YOU in your KITCHEN.

During a fancy schmancy meal, a palate cleanser is sometimes served between courses. It's a neutral-flavored food or drink that allows the tongue to more accurately taste new flavors.

We have applied the concept of a palate cleanser to our daily eating habits, and created Intermezzo (which is another word for palate cleanser and also Italian for "interval") This program serves as a 5 week interval from your regular eating habits.

It is possible to transform taste buds that crave ultra processed food to crave the taste of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, and other whole foods.

How does Intermezzo work?
Healthy Food

Not a diet.

Not a juice cleanse.

No calorie counting.

No "mind games" or hypnosis.

A selection of choices.

A treatise in persuasion.

Mission Statement

For decades, major food companies have been adding excessive amounts of sugar and artificial ingredients into their products (both sweet and savory) forcing us to believe that our favorite foods should taste much sweeter and more potent than what's natural. These additives are designed to make us dependent on the product, so we develop cravings for them and consequently keep purchasing them.

In order to have greater control over our eating habits, we believe we should focus on two simple behaviors.

1. To embrace whole foods in their natural forms as often as we can.

2. To prepare desserts and snacks at home whenever we crave them.

Persuading with Compassion & Storytelling

Of course, the two points mentioned above are much easier said than done.

Intermezzo will give you a blueprint to make them a consistent part of your life.

Moreover, Intermezzo is run by NovelBody, our wellness platform that wants to help you get healthier by activating the parts of yourself that come to life when reading a book or watching a movie.

We want you to become the character who can rise to the challenge, learn from your mistakes, and find success in consistency rather than perfection.

We help you achieve this with our engaging daily readings and real world assignments that are not solely based on logic and reason, but also appeal to your pathos (emotions, passion, desires).

The hope is to persuade you as thoughtfully and vividly as possible to wilfully make better, healthier decisions throughout your day.

MEET RHEA

Precision Nutrition certified coach & your guide for the next 5 weeks.

"I come from a family of health and fitness enthusiasts, but dessert has always been my weakness. In fact, we all love dessert in my family, and we're not afraid to show it.

But I craved something sweet and decadent every single day, in abundance, and the cravings were often linked to my emotional state, or even lack of emotions.

This was not good for my mental or physical well-being. I tried various forms of dieting, restricting, and calorie/nutrient counting. None of it seemed to work. I always went back to my old habits.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I challenged myself to not eat any kind of store-bought foods, and to make everything at home instead. I planned ahead and incorporated at least 15 minutes of dessert or snack prep into to my daily schedule.

I learned more about each ingredient that went into the treats I consumed on a daily basis, and now I have greater control on what goes into my body.

I still have a penchant for sweets, and I definitely have my favorites, but I can say with full confidence that I'm the one who makes the decisions on when, what, and how I eat.

I'm no longer driven by the urge to control my eating habits in unreasonable ways, and I don't get tempted by most foods I see online or in store.

But I'm no champion or wellness superstar - I'm just normal. I've reached the healthy baseline that's right for me, and I want to help others reach their healthy baseline.

I am a Precision Nutrition certified Level 1 coach. Along with my own experience experimenting and getting healthier in the kitchen, the PNL1 certification has helped me construct Intermezzo's nutrition guidelines and recipes that will help manage your sweet cravings for the next 5 weeks, and hopefully for good.
