So why not keep your intensity and passion alive, but fuel yourself better?

Cooking is perhaps the most useful craft you can ever master.

The plate is your canvas, the ingredients are your materials, the spoon and the spatula are your tools…As with any kind of artistic endeavor, preparing food at home only gets better with practice.

Below are a mix of healthy and indulgent snacks that accompany each day of the series.

Just like any other activity in Artists at Rest - you don’t have to make them - but if you do, it can only nourish your endeavors as a creative.

Artists Need To Eat: The Kitchen is The Atelier

In his collection of vignettes - Scènes de la vie de bohème -

Henri Murger whimsically romanticizes the charmingly bohemian, tragically impoverished lifestyle of the struggling artist.

Wellness, stability, peace of mind and nutritious eating habits don’t typically go hand-in-hand with being a passionate, hustling creative.

Late nights, long work hours, and skipped meals are the usual story.

Nevertheless, even Michelangelo himself was fairly well-fed and well-rested as he labored for years under intense physical strain, meticulously perfecting every detail.
